After reading I am Nujood, I could not help but be overwhelmed by the constant strength and determination that Nujood, a ten-year-old girl displayed. I also could not help but feel lucky about the society I was born into. Nujood is forced into a marriage at such a young age and essentially forced to grow up. Throughout her marriage, Nujood struggles with having to be a woman and experiencing womanly things but wanting to be a child. I am amazed at the amount of poise and adult-like qualities Nujood displays while fighting to be divorced without the the help of her family.
Nujood is an inspiration for all. I feel that this book should be read by young adults and utilized in classrooms.
